1. Who may apply ?

Anyone, between 16-29 can apply as a participant, Applicants older than 29 are welcome to attend as observers.

2. Do I need to pay a Registration fee ?

Yes, you need to pay for the registration. The fee is NRs 500 for Nepali participants, USD 15 for South Asian Participants and USD 25 for international participants.

3. How do I pay the registration fee ?

Registration fee needs to be paid at the registration desk at the Summit. You can also pay through your co-ordinator.

4. Do, I need to pay for food and accommodation ?

No, Food and accommodation are covered by the organizers.

5. I have received the acceptance letter, but I need sponsorship for airfare. Is financial assistance available from the SAYSoCC-2009 ?

Limited financial assistance is available for few needy participants from South Asia.

6. Do I need a visa to attend the conference? If so, can the Secretariat help me with my entry visa ?

Any foreign visitor wishing to enter Nepal should have a valid passport and a visa. It is very important that you start arranging your visa in advance. The procedure takes at least two weeks, and it can be very difficult to arrange an appointment at the embassy. So, please try to reach the embassy as soon as possible, and arrange an appointment before you visit Nepal. To find out more, please visit the VISA information at here http://www.immi.gov.np

7. Where is the venue ?

The summit will take place at Mirabel Hotel Resort, Dhulikhel which is located 30 km east from Kathmandu, It's a 45 minutes drive from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. http://www.mirabelresorthotel.com/

8. When is it ?

Participants should plan on arriving on September 2nd and leaving on September 7th.

9. How's the food ?

The food is continental, Indian and Nepali.

10. How's the Weather ?

June 10 is the onset of Monsoon in Nepal and offsetting on 10th September. So the weather will be rainy with moderate temperature.

11. How do I get to the venue ?

If you are arriving by flight, a pick up vehicle will be at stand by at the Tribhuvan International Airport to take you the venue If you are arriving by Roadway pick up vehicle will be at stand by at kalanki (entry to Kathmandu) which will take you the venue

12. Do I need to bring the laptop ?

Though not required, we recommend bringing one along. There will be a computer station accessible to the delegates

13. What's about the internet facility ?

There's an internet facility for the participants during the summit period.

14. What's the Program for the cultural night ?

It's the evening where delegates from all of the participating countries perform a dance or song, as individuals or in groups
