Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA) and Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) in coordination with Climate Change Network Nepal (CCNN) are organizing a Post COP 15 Consultation Workshop on 8 January 2009, in order to share and analyze the outcomes of COP 15 from Nepal's perspective and draw up the Nepal's strategy for future in an effective and unified manner.
COP 15 started with the tall set of expectation and above all else wanted a fair, ambitious and legally binding treaty. Instead, the major outcome, the Copenhagen Accord, came out as a loose and unclear political document. However, the initiatives taken by the government to bolster both Nepal’s negotiating position and awareness in general needs to be appreciate and were able to leave a mark.
It is essential to have the stakeholders from all possible groups come together and analyze the overall outcomes of COP15 and design the way ahead for Nepal.
